Abstract

Acne is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit of the skin, characterized by the presence of a comedone. The disease impacts patients' quality of life due to physical discomfort and psychosocial implications. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate nursing care for patients with acne and rosacea and their socioeconomic aspects. We aim to evaluate nursing care for patients with acne and rosacea and their socioeconomic difficulties during treatment. This is a report of a successful experience involving nursing consultations with a patient with acne rosacea experienced by nursing students. The patient was welcomed and applied the Nursing Process to support qualified care. The initial contact was important for assessing the patient's history and strengthening the bond. The patient received nursing care and support to overcome her difficulties; the welcome and appropriate guidance strengthened her adherence to treatment. It is concluded that the reported experience reinforces the need for a nursing practice that integrates the doctor-nurse binomial with their knowledge, aiming at integrated and patient-centered care.
