The thematic issue “Stomatherapy beyond the specialty: science, innovation, and the transformation of care” aims to gather a diverse and rigorous body of scientific work connected to contemporary challenges. It values various methodological designs and theoretical perspectives that contribute to generating evidence, informing decisions, strengthening the scientific identity of Stomatherapy, and transforming care practices.
We welcome clinical, epidemiological, methodological, technological, educational, and organizational studies. Topics of interest include research on prevention and treatment, assistive and educational technologies, digital health, telecare, artificial intelligence, data science, professional training, care management, public policy, quality of life, rehabilitation, and care centered on the person, family, and caregivers.
Innovation goes beyond merely incorporating new technologies; it involves generating knowledge and solutions capable of addressing the real needs of individuals and healthcare services, with a focus on safety, ethics, accessibility, and impact. Thus, this issue offers a space for reflection, sharing, and transformation, strengthening Stomatherapy’s scientific identity and its contribution to Nursing and society.
